USA  FAB IAN RODRIGUEZ WINS WITH STEVE KANOWSKI AT THE BASSTASSTIC TEAMS QUALIFER

Sometimes  if you put a plan together it just may work. When Steve Kanowski invited Fabiian Rodriguez of USA to join him as partner in round two Basstasstic teams qualifier that's what happened. Fabio is an Elite bass angler in USA and was coming down under to visit family . But he all so mw anted to try his hand at the Aussie Bass . This event gave him that opportunity and paired up with Steve they  were a force to content with. Steve said he told Fabio he would be taking him to a very pictures dam as in Borumba dam near Imbil . Their was talk of Vampire drop bears and yes plenty of other Aussie stuff to make him feel just a little terrified . A BBQ was held for anglers to meet him and talk fish . Fabio told anglers of what happens in USA and plenty about how tournaments are run over there. He was also given plenty to think about of what is here in good old Aussie Land . It was great night which he felt real welcome and was keen to get fishing on Saturday  for the first days sessions . With  a change to how the Teams tournament is run, all anglers had day one to find their best two bass ,out of two sessions and only two fish per session  . The new change carry's the two best bass from day one over to day two ,now so all teams have a base score to add on to on day two. On day two you get to catch two bass per team  so in final adding its your four best fish lengths  that count.  Borumba was fishing a bit tough for all anglers  ,the water was still a little bit  dirty and the bass were still feeling the effects of the in flow. Day one see Team Tennessee Fabian Rodriguez and Steve Kanowski  of Brisbane  take the lead with two good fish with overall score of 913 points . In second place for Saturday was team Country to Coast  made up of Laurie Crumblin of Mundubbera and Peter Batey of Gympie had a good score of 884 points . Day two was a little different  ,some caught fish in main basin others went for the two creeks but in general it was tougher then day one.  The winners for the weekend was Team Tennessee with overall score of 1785 points they also won biggest bass which was 458 mm to the fork.  Next qualifier will be held at BP Dam in June.
