BASSTASSTIC ROUND ONE QUALIFER HELD AT BOONDOOMA DAM FOR 2018 SEASON
A great weekend was had by all at Boondooma dam on 10th and 11th of March anglers travelled from all over QLD to attend the round so they can build on their ranking total to make the ever growing popular Basstasstic Singles bass Grand Final in November this year. And there are those who get rewarded by fishing five or more rounds with a Automatic entry to the Final. The dam had quite a few tournaments on it in recent weeks before this round so fishing was expected to be hard going. Session on seen local Wondai angler Terry Allwood take lead of the pack with two good bass with a score of 872 sitting in second place was Basstasstic 2017 Angler of year Jordon Renz of Bundaberg with a score of 811 The afternoon session was a little tougher with boats moving around the dam searching for active bass . Mick Easement of the Sunshine coast had a good session with tally of 877 score . But it all comes down to a constant score and sitting in the number one spot for day one was Terry Allwood with a score of 1637 points sitting in second place was Mitchell Renz of Bundaberg who put together a good tally for day one of 1536 points. Day two saw a windy day and a bit better than the afternoon session the day before. But this weekend saw Terry Allwood take the win with a overall score of 2466 points He took home $700 in cash and a Trevor's leathers key ring with his score on it. He also took home big bass cash pool of $270 Dollars plus the big bass key ring with a Big bass of 462. Second place went to Mitchell Renz with a score of 2350 points and he won $475 in cash . Third place went to Peter McGarva of Gatton with a great score of 2251 points he won $350 cash . Forth place went to Jordon Renz with a score of 2209 points ,he took home $300 in cash. Fifth place was Barry Reynolds of Nambour with a score of 2180 points he won $200 in cash. 6th place was Paul Allwood of Ipswich with a score of 2160 points he won Dj's Tyre Service Eidsvold prize of a Battery charger . 7th place was Kimberly Allwood of Wondai who had score of 2145 points and won THE a1 Road worthy's prize. 8th place went to Braden Schuch of the Sunshine Coast with a score of 2137 points and won the Circle D Droughtmasters prize. 9th place went to Gary Mc Cabe of Brisbane with a nice score of 2087 points he took home the Planet 72 Ice Creamery prize. 10th place went to David Bullard of Dalby with a score of 2023 points . Dave took home the Somerset Tackle Prize. 11th place went to new comer Mick Easement with score of 1873 points, he won a Redarc prize. 12th place was Mick Johnson of Chinchilla and he had a score of 1838 points and won the Gatton Home Brew and Camping and Fishing Prize. Junior angler Layla Allwood of Wondai took out the junior section to make it a father and Daughter winning pair. She had a score of 2032 points she won the Bill and Cindy Schloss lure prize . 2nd in Juniors was Raylan Johnson of Chinchilla had score of 1006 points and won a Shimano rod. Tayla Johnson of Chinchilla won a Shimano reel with a score of 962 points . Next round is to be held at Cania Dam in April.
