For those Anglers who made the trip to Maroon found it a tough fish for all on the weekend. Anglers had plenty of casting practice with stubborn bass shut down because of recent cold snaps of winter weather. Most anglers said they through their entire tackle box at the fish, but they just wanted nothing to do with them. Others found some pattern to what lures were working (and also fly fishing made an appearance, Peter Cooney spent plenty of time working the weed beds to find his bag. Mike Delisser found a combination of lures which included Fly fishing to take out second place with a score of 1292. Graham Walker put in a great effort to secure third place with a score of 1280. Forth place went to Leroy Finch with a score of 1229 and closely followed by Darren Rassmussen with 1024 score. Darren also bagged the big bass award for the weekend with a 381 bass in length. Trevor Stead 975 and Rod Thompson 877.Anglers staying at the Pointro Manor house were treated to pumpkin soup on Saturday night thanks to Karen Nowland and Inga Augenstein and Laura Emmet….. Mike Cole of Austackle made the trip down and had a great display of tackle on show.
