The outlook is good for freshwater fish! With most Queensland dams at 100%, stocking groups are now investing their stored Stocked Impoundment Permit Funds and releasing millions of fingerlings into qld dams. Fantastic work is being done by these hardworking groups, introducing snags, revegetating banks and erosion control.
The recent floods have in the very short term been both good and bad news for freshwater fishing. Dirty water contains alot of debris and is low in oxygen resulting in some major kills of native fish and mature brood stocks.
